This was a full-circle moment for me. I hadn’t painted a Connecticut marsh since I first left the state in 2012. After all those years—and so much plein air practice under my belt—it was such a joy to return to these wetlands and finally feel ready to do them justice.

The reflections, the summer light, the dance between land and water—it all came together in this one. There’s a timeless elegance in these marshes, and I was thrilled to finally capture it with clarity and heart.

For anyone who loves quiet nature scenes or has a special connection to New England, this painting brings a bit of that beauty home.
