When I painted Streak of Light, I was captivated by the way a sudden shaft of sunlight broke through the trees and illuminated the ground. It was a fleeting moment—the kind of thing you miss if you’re not really looking.

Working en plein air allowed me to respond immediately, laying down color and shadow before the light shifted. This piece is about that spark of illumination that changes everything, even if just for a breath.
