Oil on panel, painted en plein air

I painted Windswept Light over the Marsh out in the open air, swept up in the vastness of the landscape and the movement of the sky. The scene was alive with wind—clouds racing overhead, golden fields glowing beneath blue light. Though there wasn’t much water visible, you could feel the moisture in the air and the quiet pulse of the marsh. I wanted to capture that expansive feeling, the serenity and freedom that come from standing in nature with brush in hand, chasing the ever-changing light.
