Gouache on warm tan paper, painted en plein air
On this morning, the sky was a deep, moody blue and the trees glowed green with early light filtering through. Moody Blue Morning is my attempt to chase that shifting color, the quiet feeling of a path leading somewhere just out of reach. Painting en plein air in gouache let me respond quickly to the changing light, while keeping a loose, painterly brushwork reminiscent of my oils. I hope it draws you in, letting you feel that hush of morning and the pull of a path yet to explore.
