This painting had been living in my imagination for years! I’ve always wanted to paint something just like this. I just hadn’t challenged myself to bring it to life until a fellow artist shared her beautiful reference image with me. Seeing these yellow irises bathed in warm outdoor light instead of the usual studio shadows was irresistible. Their glow, their strength, and their fleeting beauty finally found their place on my canvas.
