I painted Through the Trees to the Bay while standing beneath a canopy of trees, watching sunlight dance across rocks and water in the distance. There’s something magical about seeing a scene framed naturally—like the trees themselves are guiding your eye to the bay beyond. Working in gouache allowed me to chase that dappled light and fleeting color, while keeping the loose, expressive quality I love from oils. I hope this painting brings that sense of serenity, shadow, and light into your home, as if you could step right onto the path yourself.
