This painting brings me back to childhood summers. My dad used to come home with a paper sack full of fresh apricots, gifted from a lawn-mowing client. We didn’t get fruit like that often, so it felt like such a treat. With this still life, I wanted to honor that memory—the feeling of unexpected abundance, of summer generosity. Still life painting, for me, is about capturing those fleeting seasonal pleasures and grounding them in timeless beauty.
